Our West Bayfront functions not only through visible physical improvements, but also by working to change the perspective of the entire community to reflect a higher focus on community values and safety. We are excited to launch an initiative focused on serving the businesses found within the West Bayfront! Our businesses play a huge role in the vibrant community that we live in, and we want our neighbors to know what they have to offer!
Lights On Our West Bayfront
Lights On Our West Bayfront is a resident-led community initiative to improve safety and security in the West Bayfront by improving lighting throughout the neighborhoods. The initiative encourages neighbors to turn their porch lights on after dark for better visibility along the streets and sidewalks nearby.
Our West Bayfront, with the help of several community partners, recently unveiled Westerdahl Park, a new pocket park located at 633 W. 4th St. The lot had previously been occupied by a blighted home, but was recently transformed into a community park, complete with a little free library, paved sidewalks, a newly built fence, and planters to be used as community gardens.
Bayview Park Transformation
On Erie Gives day 2018, Our West Bayfront collected funds to be designated towards the transformation of Bayview Park, located on W. 2nd and Cherry. We believe that the community deserves a beautiful and functional park to be proud of, so, with the help of resident input, we created a plan to enhance the already stunning Bayview Park to its highest potential.
We want to provide you with the resources you need to make a difference on your block. That’s why we are offering matching grants for exterior home repairs through our first Renaissance Block program. 25 homeowners adjacent to Gridley Park are expected to participate in the program within the first 18 months.
